The (same old same old) Son of God

When I learned a movie called "Son of God" was going to hit theaters soon, the first thing I checked was the key character's skin color.

Yep—another YMCA Jesus white guy.

For the record, my image of Christ resembles Haile Selassie. But having Selassie's face on movie posters wouldn't sell tickets, would it?

I cannot even begin to imagine the howls, threats, screeches and general Armageddon that would break out if a movie featured a dark-skinned Christ.

Millions of people would see that film as a sign the End Times are upon us.

Around 700 BC, Assyria conquered Israel. At the time there were 12 Tribes of Israel, the Assyrians kicked out 10. The tribes scattered and speculation has it that the tribes settled in what is now India, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Iraq. Iran, and North America, (Inuits and American Indians). I think that they kept the two tribes because they were white. Maybe I am a descendant of the tribes that were kept

So you're saying that after Assyria conquered Israel, it was an all-white nation?

It's a joke or myth, no Jews from that area were white, White Jews came from the scattering of the tribes and asssimilation with the races they lived with.

On a side note, the religion textbooks at Walsh feature a black Jesus on the cover, and the artwork inside shows Jesus, Mary, and Joseph of varying Middle Eastern and African heritages. I was impressed.
