Poor, poor pitiful me

Wouldn't it be nice if John Boehner, the House speaker, could actually do some leading?

This is in the news digest I get every morning from The New York Times:

Lawmakers were fully united, if only around their sadness and frustration at being stuck in Washington in a holiday week, peering over the edge of the fiscal abyss.

To which my response is, "Too bad. Too fkng bad. Stop whining and get to work."

What a bunch of whiny crybabies. It's not like they didn't know the end of the year was a holiday week. That's what they get for not doing anything about it all freakin' year.

Career politicians are the problem. No one should be able to serve more than two terms. If you have served in the House or Senate for 20 years or more you have voted on all of this sh*t a hundred times and probably not the same way twice because of the political winds ablowin'...if you have been there awhile you are not part of the solution or part of the problem..You are the problem! Additionally, the Tea Party; pure and simple are obstructionists. Their electorate does not understand compromise. Perhaps when two Tea Party candidates have a primary they should duel with pistols instead of a run off vote.

The only reason these louts serve more than one term is people voting for them. Term limits, though, might make a politician more likely to spend more time in Washington instead of fundraising, and it might make them more likely to cast sensible votes instead of voting to bolster chances for re-election.
